Revenant 60” x 36” nails on painted wood panel

Im a pretty big fan of Leonardo DiCaprio. This was the second piece that i did, I was still working down to a more manageable size without a loss in detail. This piece was done freehanded, meaning I didn’t sketch the piece out first, I just used a grid system. It was way more challenging and took much longer. This piece took about 6 months off and on while I was in school. This pieces contains about 22,480 nails.
